(15 March 2014) The Elling O. Eide Foundation of Sarasota, Florida seeks an experienced Librarian, Chinese Cataloger/Subject Specialist to be responsible for establishing and developing a collection that focuses on pre-modern China and Central/Inner Asia. The Eide Library consists mainly of modern and thread-bound books in Chinese, some published before 1911; volumes in Western languages, Japanese, and Korean; and about two-hundred periodicals. It will be housed in a state-of–the-art facility with compression shelving and storage buildings to enable growth. Located on a natural preserve, the library is expected to be a center for workshops and residential visits by researchers.
