(19 September 2016) National Institute of Library and Information Sciences (NILIS) – University of Colombo, in collaboration with Goethe-Institut – Colombo, is organizing a regional workshop on New Trends in Library Space Design: Library Design with Low Cost or No Budget from 21-22 November 2016.
The objective of the workshop is to empower library professionals on planning library buildings and space more attractively, effectively and in a way that present, past and future generations of users are more satisfied. This two-day workshop will help all participants to think of ways their respective libraries have to be redesigned with low cost or even without any additional budget.
Target audience is University, Public, School and special library professionals from South Asia and South East Asia.
The resource person Dr.Klaus Ulrich Werner is the Library Director at the Freie Universitaet Berlin. He is a member of the commission for Library and Archive Building Guidelines of the German Institute for Standardization (DIN) and a member of the Standing Committee of the Library Buildings and Equipment Section of the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA). He has published various books and articles on library buildings and equipment. He is also an international consultant in library management and services, and in particular on library buildings reorganization and change management.
Registration fee is USD 100.00 for overseas delegates. Registration will be on a first come first served basis. The maximum number of participants will be 40. Reserve your seat by paying the full registration fee before 20 October 2016.
