New Online Resource Centre provides free access to the latest research
(21 January 2016, Amsterdam) A new educational online Resource Centre focused on gastrointestinal cancer gives healthcare professionals free access to the latest peer-reviewed research, cutting-edge data and case studies to help them treat patients more effectively.
Elsevier’s Advances in Gastrointestinal Cancer Resource Centre, which is hosted by the European Journal of Cancer and Clinical Colorectal Cancer, acts as an information hub to keep physicians and other healthcare practitioners up-to-date on the latest studies and guidelines.
Gastrointestinal (GI) cancer is the most common form of cancer. It includes the cancers that affect the esophagus, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, stomach, small intestine, bowel and anus. There are various approaches to treating the different cancers, and the new Resource Centre aims to give healthcare professionals the tools they need to care for their patients.
Launched during ECCO/ESMO 2015 conference in Vienna, the Advances in Gastrointestinal Cancer Resource Centre focuses on gastric cancer and will expand its scope over time to include all GI cancers.
“With the new Resource Centre, we aim to provide clinically relevant information to enable healthcare workers to treat and care for their patients,” said Professor David Cunningham, Editor-in-Chief of the Advances in Gastrointestinal Cancer Resource Centre from Royal Marsden Hospital in London and Surrey, UK. “This is a fast-moving field so it is vital healthcare professionals keep up-to-date with the latest information.”
The platform, which is freely accessible, will offer journal articles, patient case reports, interviews and roundtable discussions with experts. All content is curated by experts: Editor-in-Chief Professor David Cunningham and the Resource Centre’s international advisory board.
New content is posted monthly. Visitors can subscribe to the eAlert to stay informed of all new content as it is published.
The Advances in Gastrointestinal Cancer Resource Centre is one of several freely accessible Resource Centres on different topics published by Elsevier.
Each Resource Centre provides clinically relevant content from trusted sources, which is curated, reviewed and commented on by expert editors.
