(10 March 2015, Adelaide, Australia) Ex Libris Group, a world leader in library automation services, is pleased to announce that the State Library of Queensland (SLQ) is live with Ex Libris Alma. An institution with a history of leadership in library technology, SLQ was the first Australian library to implement the Ex Libris Primo discovery and delivery solution.
As a legal deposit library, SLQ’s requirements differ from those of most academic libraries. The Library has a diverse mandate that includes collecting Queensland’s documentary published and unpublished material and to connect Queenslanders to resources that meet their information needs. Alma’s automated workflows and unique approach to managing legal deposit works have enabled the Library to improve efficiency and strengthen cooperation among staff members. As a result, they will be able to provide easier access to SLQ’s extensive local and online resources.
