(30 January 2015) In Nepal, traditional music castes used to travel from village to village, carrying news and preserving history through storytelling and song. Today, that tradition is disappearing, but READ is working to keep Nepal’s history and stories alive. Five READ Centers brought together local grandparents, children, and theatre groups to transcribe, illustrate, publish, and perform traditional tales – getting the children excited about reading, and learning about history in the process.
The illustrated story is on the Read Global website.
