(24 May 2025) The Department of Science and Technology – Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) recently inaugurated its e-Library at Benguet State University in La Trinidad, Benguet, marking a landmark step in the digital transformation of the Institute’s extensive research archives.
The launch of the e-Library is the culmination of the project titled “From Page to Pixel: Digital Transformation of the DOST-FPRDI Library”. This ambitious initiative seeks to digitize thousands of the Institute’s forest products research materials, reports, publications and other valuable documents accumulated over decades.
By converting over three million pages of printed materials, some dating back to 1954, into digital format, the project aims to safeguard these resources from physical deterioration and make them accessible to a wider, global audience.
