(20 November 2018, Singapore) Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, is pleased to announce that Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) Library has chosen the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform, Primo® discovery and delivery solution, bX® recommender service, and LegantoTM course reading list solution as part of the Library’s strategy to support research, teaching, and learning at the world’s top young university.
The integration of these Ex Libris products will support the entire suite of library operations, including the acquisition and management of diverse types of library materials and the discovery and delivery of these materials through an intuitive user interface. In addition, Leganto will enable the library to better serve the teaching and learning needs of faculty and students.
NTU Library sought a system that would provide streamlined administrative business workflows and course resource list management along with a unified platform to handle the management of physical and electronic resources, metadata, course reserves, and all other library services. In addition, the University looked for a vendor that has an excellent track record in the academic market, would provide tools or APIs for system integration, and robust support services. The Ex Libris solutions met all these requirements.
Mr. Ziv BenZvi, vice president of Ex Libris Asia-Pacific, said, “We are excited that NTU Library has chosen the Alma, Primo, bX, and Leganto services and welcome the university to the active Primo, Alma, and Leganto communities.”
Du Juan, Assistant Director of the Technologies Team at NTU Library, said, “Alma, Primo, and Leganto will benefit our library users with fast and broad access to online resources using any Internet-enabled device, while NTU faculty can enrich their courses by adding content from our collections directly to their course resource lists for students.”
“The analytics will assist NTU Library in our decision-making process as we continue to develop our collections to support the evolving needs of our students, faculty, and researchers. As cloud-based services, the Ex Libris solutions will also lower the cost of maintaining hardware and allow for real-time software updates,” she added.
