(8 September 2014) The Leisure & Cultural Services Department launched “My Library” today, the official Hong Kong Public Libraries mobile application for both iOS and Android platforms.
The app provides useful functions, including access to personal library accounts; searching, reserving and renewing of library materials; locating the nearest libraries; listing library addresses and contact information; and, personalised alert services, such as notifications for picking up reserved items and due dates of borrowed items.
It also supports the delivery of personalised alerts on due dates and the latest news through push notifications.
Developed and managed by the department, the app is the only official library mobile app with enhanced security and personal privacy protection. It is available free from Google Play or the Apple App Store.
The department has also revamped the public libraries website.
