(30 August 2016) INASP has announced the Second Journals Online Management Meeting 2016 will be held from 31 August to 2 September 2016 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The meeting will be officially opened by Prof. Sirimali Fernando, Chairperson and Dr Thamara Dias, Acting Director General of the National Science Foundation of Sri Lanka.
“The meeting aims to bring the management teams from all the Journals Online Projects together again so that they can share experiences and further develop their strategies for the growth and development of the JOLs in the future,” says Sioux Cumming, Programme Manager, Journals Online at INASP.
The meeting will focus on the development of strategic plans for the development, increased visibility and sustainability of the JOLs. There will also be a discussion around the implementation of the Journal Publishing Practices and Standards star rating and updates on recent initiatives.
The meeting will be attended by representatives of the JOL teams from Bangladesh, Mongolia, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Director and Operations Manager of African Journals Online. Senior Programme Manager Ruth Bottomley and Programme Assistant Christine Laustsen from INASP will also join the meeting.
