(13 September 2017, Kuala Lumpur, (Bernama) The high-technology library services must be expanded throughout the country, especially in remote areas to ensure all residents have access to the same information thus generating a knowledgeable and informed society, said National Library of Malaysia (PNM) Director-General Datuk Nafisah Ahmad.
She said with today’s development in information technology such as internet-enabled facilities, smartphones and smart gadgets, reading could be done anywhere and at anytime.
“The need for electronic reading materials such as e-books, e-journals and e-magazines has encouraged libraries throughout the country to digitise reading materials to promote the reading culture amongst people in the country
