(5 August 2015) The Governor of Maharashtra state, India, recently inaugurated the digitization project of the 211-year-old Asiatic Society library in Mumbai.
Under the project, 100,000 books, 2,500 manuscripts and 1,200 maps will be digitized.
The Maharashtra government has already sanctioned Rs 5 crore [USD750,000] to the Asiatic Society for this project.
