(17 November 2015) This week is the first ever global Antibiotic Awareness Week, which aims to increase understanding of how bacteria are evolving to beat our best drugs and what we can do about it. The Wellcome Trust recently commissioned research which showed that the problem of drug resistant infections has not been well communicated. In this post, Clare Ryan, a Senior Media Officer at the Wellcome Trust, takes a closer look at seven common bacteria which are becoming harder to treat with the antibiotics doctors have available.
