(28 April 2014) The British Library’s new Reading Room for newspapers, broadcast and digital news officially is open for researchers.
It provides access to the UK’s national news collection – 750 million pages of newspapers and periodicals, 4.8 million archived websites and thousands of hours of broadcast news.
It is the culmination of a GBP33 million programme that included moving the vast collection of print newspapers to a purpose-built, robotic storage facility in Yorkshire.
