(14 Aug 2025) You still have time to submit your ideas to present at the first-ever Charleston Conference Asia, taking place January 26–28, 2026 in vibrant Bangkok, Thailand!
What Makes a Strong Proposal?
At Charleston Conference Asia, however, we encourage a collaborative and cross-sector approach. However, we understand that many academic presentations in Asia are typically based on institutional projects or published research and often feature 1–2 presenters from the same organization. Either option is welcome for our submissions process!
Successful proposals could include:
- A panel of 2–4 presenters representing different sectors (for example, a librarian, a publisher, and a researcher discussing a shared challenge or innovation).
- 1-2 presenters from a single library or institution presenting a project, case study, or research topic.
- A broad topic of mutual interest for discussion, such as AI in academic publishing, transformative agreements, metadata interoperability, or open access policy development.
- Interactive formats, such as panel discussions or debates, rather than formal paper readings.
- Poster Sessions are also welcome and are an excellent way to share single-institution projects, original research, workflow improvements, or innovative services in a concise and visual format. A successful poster proposal clearly communicates the core problem, approach, and key results while providing opportunities for one-on-one discussions with attendees.
Guidelines at a Glance:
Representation Matters: Every proposal must include at least one speaker from a library or knowledge institution. Proposals without this will not be considered.
Limit Promotion: Sessions should focus on ideas and dialogue, not sales or product demonstrations.
Max 4 Speakers: Including moderators. All speakers must be confirmed and listed at the time of submission.
In-Person Preferred: Presenters are encouraged to join us in Bangkok, but remote presentation options are available.
Speaker Limits: Individuals may participate in no more than two sessions to ensure diverse voices are heard.
