(10 Dec 2024) CAUL is seeking a Data Solutions Specialist to drive our data and analytics capabilities forward. This newly established role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of data solutions that impact university libraries across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, along with employment conditions that provide work-life balance and flexibility.
The Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL) is the peak collegiate body for the leaders of university libraries in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. It facilitates connection and collaboration and optimises its collective knowledge, expertise, and resources to achieve strategic outcomes at scale in priority areas for the university library sector. CAUL is the trusted voice of the university library sector in the region. CAUL’s Members currently comprise the university librarians (or equivalent) at Australian and Aotearoa universities. From 2025, membership will also be open to Australasian and Oceania higher education institutions recognised as universities by their respective governments.
As our technical specialist, you’ll be responsible for end-to-end data solutions that support strategic decision-making for the university library sector and other Consortium participants. A key focus will be conducting complex analysis to support content procurement negotiations and developing sophisticated analytics solutions that demonstrate value and impact.
In 2025, CAUL will undertake a strategic review of its analytics capabilities to ensure its data infrastructure continues to meet the evolving needs of CAUL Members. Moving from CAUL’s established Tableau environment toward Microsoft’s integrated data and analytics ecosystem, including Fabric and Power Apps, presents an exciting opportunity to influence and shape CAUL’s future data architecture.
