Manager, Metadata and Discovery – The primary purpose of the Manager, Metadata and Discovery is to ensure the Library’s collections and information resources are appropriately described, highly discoverable and accessible by the University community across a range a of discovery platforms and access channels. The role leads staff responsible for metadata strategy, creation, maintenance, and resource access as well as those who coordinate, maintain, and develop the systems and applications associated with these functions. Systems under the stewardship of this role include the integrated library management system, enterprise discovery layer as well as platforms that facilitate authentication to ensure compliance with electronic resource and content licenses can be met. Integrations between discovery and access systems and University enterprise databases and systems are within the scope of this role.
Manager, Scholarly Communication and Research Outputs – The Manager, Scholarly Communication and Research Outputs is responsible for leading the design, development and management of the Library’s services designed to support Deakin’s enterprise research strategy including collection and stewardship of research data and outputs. The role leads the Library’s specialist services related to research bibliometrics and publications compliance reporting as well provision of expertise and advice regarding the scholarly publishing and communications landscape including open access and the opportunities to maximise publishing for impact. The role works in collaboration with staff across the Library, including Library Partners to facilitate delivery of research services to the University and leads a team of expert staff. The Manager collaborates closely with key University stakeholders including Faculties, Institutes and Deakin Research in ensuring that the Library’s services, business processes and workflows enable the effective capture of research outputs and data to support research quality assessment and compliance requirements.
Manager, Library Exhibitions and Public Programs – The Manager is responsible for growing this program over time, creating vibrant, rich and engaging experiences that focus on developing connections between Library and Archival collections and the teaching, learning and research outputs of the university to enrich the campus experience and foster a more vibrant interdisciplinary environment for students and staff while simultaneously opening up the university more actively to the public.
Senior Manager, Collections – The role of Senior Manager, Collections provides expert leadership of the University Library and Archival collections, ensuring these collections are developed, managed and preserved in line with best-practice standards and to meet the learning, teaching, research and engagement needs of the university. The role reports to the Director, Library Services (Information) and leads a large professional team of librarians.
