(4 May 2018) EIFL has signed a three-year renewal agreement with Credo Reference, an online reference database with authoritative content from over 700 e-book titles, covering major topics in the arts, humanities and sciences.
The agreement, which runs until 2021, is available to library consortia and libraries in 37 EIFL partner countries.
Among Credo Reference’s many special features are:
- A simple to use one-stop search box and is ideal for students starting their research.
- A ‘Listen’ feature that reads content aloud
- A multilingual user interface in English, Chinese, French, Polish, Spanish and Urdu
- A translation feature that transcribes all text content into over 60 languages.
Credo Reference has subject specific landing pages, or topic pages, for over 11,000 topics for example, on DNA, nutrition, historical figures etc. The topic pages can be populated with content from similar/supporting topics from a library’s existing subscriptions, providing students and researchers with further reading options. You can watch a video of how the Credo Topic pages work here.
