(9 Jan 2023) Wiley announced remarkable growth of an open access agreement in Japan by increasing from four to 18 participating institutions.
Based on the success of the initial agreement by four Japanese institutions in 2022, a new agreement between Wiley and JUSTICE (Japan Alliance of University Library Consortia for E-Resources) allows 14 new universities enter into an open access agreement to start January 1, 2023. The new agreement provides reading access to Wiley’s entire journal portfolio and enables participating researchers to publish in Wiley’s complete portfolio of nearly 2,000 hybrid and gold open access journals, including those published by Hindawi.
The 18 participating Japanese universities include: Iwate University, Tohoku University, Saitama University, the University of Tokyo, Tokyo Institute of Technology, the University of Electro-Communications, the University of Yamanashi, Shinshu University, the Graduate University for Advanced Studies, University of Fukui, Mie University, Kyoto University, Kyushu Institute of Technology, Tokyo Metropolitan University, Keio University, Tokyo University of Science, Kanagawa University, and Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology.
