(18 Oct 2023) About the opportunity:
As a Metadata Services Librarian, you will provide specialist skills for describing unique or complex resources created and/or managed by the Library (electronic, print, digital and data) using standard metadata schemas, including MARC, RDA and Dublin Core to ensure resource discoverability and access irrespective of location, media or form. This includes developing strategies and procedures to ensure information resources are described accurately and accessible to library clients across the Library Services Platform, institutional repository and Digital Asset Management system. You will have expert knowledge of library systems, as well as tools and applications for data manipulation. You will closely liaise with vendors to manage the quality assurance of out-sourced record creation.
The Metadata Services Librarian operates in a dynamic environment. Changes to technology, media, form and delivery of information resources may require review of duties and role.
