(30 Mar 2023) The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has opened a Trustworthy & Responsible Artificial Intelligence Resource Center (AIRC) to serve as a repository for current federal guidance on AI.
The AIRC, formally launched on March 30, offers stakeholders easy access to previously issued materials, facilitating the creation of responsible AI systems by both public and private entities. The resource supports and operationalizes the NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF 1.0) and accompanying Playbook. Future enhancements will provide an interactive, role-based experience, offering access to a wide-range of relevant AI resources.
In addition to providing access to the AI RMF 1.0 and Playbook, the AIRC offers:
- A glossary to promote a shared understanding and improved communication in trustworthy and responsible AI
- Links to NIST workshops
- Information on AI Visiting Fellows
- Links to training opportunities
- Access to the AI RMF Roadmap—a companion to AI RMF 1.0 that identifies key activities for advancing the framework
