(4 March 2016) On 25 February 2016, SIM University (UniSIM) and the National Library Board (NLB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on educational activities that will benefit NLB staff, UniSIM students and staff, and the general public. The MOU was signed by Prof Tsui Kai Chong, Provost of UniSIM; and Ms Tay Ai Cheng, Deputy Chief Executive of NLB.
The first collaborative activity is the Conversation Starters series of panel discussions on current affairs topics addressed by experts from academia, government bodies and the private sector. The series will kick off in April with a panel discussion on ‘Countering the ISIS Threat’. In addition, the parties are looking at the training and development needs of NLB staff that can be served by UniSIM courses, as well as customised information literacy sessions for UniSIM students. Several other activities are also in the pipeline.
With all these plans in place, this partnership is expected to be an exciting and fruitful one.
