(14 November 2013) LIANZA has posted an appeal for donations. As you will be aware the recent typhoon Haiyan and a major earthquake in Bohol have had disastrous effects in the Philippines.
IFLA has made contact with the National Library Director of the Philippines and a call for assistance has been posted by The Philippine Librarians Association Inc. (PLAI): http://plai.org.ph/index.php/news/28-news/23-call-action.
LIANZA will be supporting libraries in the affected areas by collecting monetary donations to be forwarded on behalf of the New Zealand Library and Information profession.
Unfortunately we are not able to accept donations of goods including books and supplies, we will only be collecting financial donations.
