(9 July 2021) The role involves working within a rapidly changing digital environment, requiring the ability to learn complex computer applications quickly and comprehensively. The role entails stakeholder management on cross-functional projects, operating within an agile environment, whist utilising a variety of project methodologies and tools to achieve project deliverables and outcomes.
The Specialist, Library Systems and Digital Preservation is accountable for the following measurable outcomes:
- Responding actively to the day-to-day operational requirements of the team which may include project work, system troubleshooting, developing and executing test plans, system configuration, upgrades, exploring workflows, or user training for core library systems and digital environments
- Providing technical expertise to support key projects of the team, assisting with keeping detailed appropriate documentation
- Contributing to the delivery of innovative solutions, systems maintenance, enhancements, and implementation of IT related projects, which ensures service excellence and the discoverability of materials, whilst improving the user experience
- Supporting other team members with system implementation tasks, data extraction, system configuration, data manipulation, testing, and project work as required
