(1 April 2015) The Stanford University Libraries invites applications and nominations for the position of South Asia Studies Librarian. Scholars of South Asia and/or librarians fulfilling the qualifications who are interested in supporting world-class research and teaching through a combination of traditional and new collections and services are encouraged to apply.
This a dual rank posting. This position is newly created, and will support primarily the research activities of scholars affiliated with the Stanford University Center for South Asia, with specialists in the fields of anthropology, drama, economics, education, history, literature, music, political science, and religious studies. At Stanford, scholarship on South Asia comprises India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. The library will collect in the following languages: Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Marathi, Nepali, and Sanskrit.
