(5 Mar 2026) As Springer Nature marks ten years of its Research Communities platform, the company has expanded this established environment for researcher engagement with the launch of an ECR Hub – a purpose-built community for early career researchers. Over the past decade, the Research Communities have grown into a trusted home for authors, editors, and researchers worldwide where they can build professional connections, promote their own research, and engage in cross-disciplinary discussions. Today, the platform brings together more than 100,000 registered users, with 30,000–35,000 active participants each month and hosts 42 communities spanning fields from applied sciences to humanities.
The new ECR Hub represents the latest step in the company’s long-term commitment to supporting researchers – particularly those at the beginning of their careers – with tools, expertise, and spaces for scientific exchange. The hub provides early career researchers with a tailored digital environment where they can:
- Access practical guidance and resources;
- Learn from the experiences of experts and peers;
- Take part in topical, cross‑disciplinary discussions;
- Connect with a global community of fellow ECRs; and
- Explore opportunities offered by Springer Nature and the wider research ecosystem.
