(18 September 2014) Shek Kip Mei Public Library officially opened today, offering a host of library services to residents of Sham Shui Po District.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Director of Leisure & Cultural Services Michelle Li noted the library will meet the increasing demand for community facilities and improved library services in the district.
Since its soft opening in March, the number of registered borrowers at the library has more than tripled and the amount of library materials borrowed has doubled.
Located in Shek Kip Mei Estate Ancillary Facilities Block, the library covers 862 sq m, and so far has more than 70,000 items and 100 newspaper and periodical titles.
It features an activities room, Internet access, digital service workstations, and a self-service borrowing and renewal system.
