(31 March 2016) As of March 31, 2016, Mr. Noritada Otaki, the Librarian of the National Diet Library, retired and as of April 1, 2016, Dr. Sawako Hanyu is the newly appointed Librarian of the National Diet Library.
Dr. Hanyu served as Professor of Ochanomizu University from 1996, vice-president and Director of the University Library from 2005 and President from 2009, and Executive Director of RIKEN from 2015. She was rorn in 1948.
