(4 July 2018) The Open Preservation Foundation (OPF) has today published its new strategy, setting out the long-term direction for the organisation.
The strategy establishes the OPF’s position in the digital preservation landscape and guides the tasks, tools, and projects that the Foundation will address.
New core values define the Foundation’s fundamental beliefs and how the organisation conducts itself. The strategy focuses on developing the OPF reference toolset and roadmaps for the open source digital preservation tools under its stewardship. It describes the activities to build on the Foundation’s best practice and knowledge sharing programme.
Barbara Sierman, Chair of the OPF board and digital preservation consultant at the National Library of the Netherlands commented: Our new strategy brings together all of the Foundation’s strands of work into a clear plan with practical actions and gives measures to evaluate its effectiveness. We would like to thank our members for their input which has helped to ensure it meets their needs and priorities.”
