(20 November 2016) EWU Library team celebrated International Open Access Week 2016 on 24 October 2016 at the EWU Library. The Library arranged an in-house program and discussion session with library personnel on Open Access for research community. This program was conducted by Dr. Dilara Begum, Librarian (In-charge) and Md. Mamun-Or-Rashid, Senior Assistant Librarian. As a global event this is an opportunity for the academic and research community to continue to learn about the potential benefits of Open Access, to share what they’ve learned with colleagues, and to help inspire wider participation in helping to make Open Access a new norm in scholarship and research.
This year’s theme, “Open in Action,” focuses on encouraging us to take concrete steps towards realizing the goal of open research. The main purpose of this program was how the EWU library can assist the university community to understand and the opportunities of Open Access.
