(23 May 2014) On Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th of May, the Digitisation Days took place at the National Library of Spain, an event supported by the European Commission, and co-organised by the Succeed project and the Impact Centre of Competence.
More than 150 experts attended representing companies, research centres and cultural heritage institutions from all over the world – including countries as diverse as Japan, Australia and Argentina.
The experts discussed the latest innovations in digitisation of historical text, in the framework of the DATeCH International Conference (Digital access to Cultural Heritage Textual). In addition, the Digitisation Days also hosted panel discussions on digitisation policies, intellectual property rights, and other hot topics in the digitisation domain, as well as a technology exhibition.
The ceremony was chaired by Mario Vargas Llosa, Nobel laureate in Literature 2010 and President of the Virtual Library Miguel de Cervantes Foundation.
