(28 January 2016) Think. Check. Submit. The cross-industry campaign that helps educate researchers about the criteria they should look for when selecting where to publish their work – has today made available a new video that highlights some of the key questions that researchers should ask when assessing a journal. The video accompanies downloadable posters and the check list available on the campaign’s online hub thinkchecksubmit.org.
The video illustrates many of the key points of the Think. Check. Submit. checklist in a new way that can be easily shared between colleagues, and displayed in libraries and other research hubs.
Launched in October 2015, Think. Check. Submit. is a campaign led by representatives from ALPSP, BioMed Central, DOAJ, INASP, ISSN, LIBER, OASPA, SPARC, Springer Nature, STM, Ubiquity Press, UKSG, and individual publishers. The campaign helps researchers understand their options, and key criteria they should check, before submitting their work to a journal.
All researchers will benefit from more information on what to consider when choosing where to publish, but the campaign is particularly directed towards early-career academics and is aimed to be accessible to those whose first language is not English, or who may not be aware of – or have access to – the full breadth of scholarly literature.
