(4 Jul 2023) Britain’s Russell Group of research universities has published a set of principles that promote artificial intelligence (AI) literacy and use by staff and students. Universities are urged to adapt teaching and assessment to support the equitable and ethical deployment of AI, to uphold academic rigour and integrity, and to collaborate around evolving technologies.
The principles are aimed at helping universities “capitalise on the opportunities technological breakthroughs provide for teaching and learning”. They are supported by the 24 members of the Russell Group – top universities such as Cambridge, Oxford, Edinburgh, Imperial College London, King’s College London, the London School of Economics and Political Science, and University College London.
