(9 February 2016) These Fellowships are open to Australian and international researchers and established and emerging scholars. The Fellowships support researchers to make intensive use of the Library’s rich and varied collections.

Six funded Fellowships will be offered in 2017. Additional Honorary fellowships may be awarded. All applications are assessed on merit.
- National Library of Australia Fellowship supported by Deidre McCann and Kevin McCann AM and the Macquarie Group Foundation.
- National Library of Australia Fellowship supported by Ryan Stokes
- National Library of Australia Fellowship supported by past and present members of the National Library Council
- National Library of Australia Fellowship supported by Library Patrons and Supporters
- National Library of Australia Fellowship in Japan Studies, supported by the Harold S. Williams Trust
- National Library of Australia Fellowship for Research in Australian Literature, supported by the Eva Kollsman and Ray Mathew Trust
Applications for 2017 Fellowships are open until May 2, 2016.
