(4 Aug 2026) Malaysia is expanding access to trusted digital information through the u-Pustaka platform and the BERNAMA Library and Infolink Service (BLIS), as public institutions respond to growing demand for reliable online resources. Both services are supporting learning, research and information access for citizens, public agencies and academic institutions through digital collections, archives and technology-enabled tools.
Ali Rashid, Director of the National Digital Library (PERDANA) and the National Library of Malaysia, said u-Pustaka functions as a national digital information hub. The platform enables users to access millions of digital resources and borrow physical materials from 12 consortium libraries across the country.
The service provides free access to e-books, e-journals, e-magazines, audiobooks, videos, interactive learning materials and academic databases. These resources are intended to support lifelong learning and research activities for users across Malaysia, including communities in Sabah and other remote areas.
