(31 March 2015) Applications are invited for the appointment of Librarian, in the Li Ka Shing Library, Singapore Management University. The position is intended for a new MLIS (Master in Library and Information Science) graduate. The position holder will work half-time in either Information Access & Resources or Learning & Information Services in order to develop expertise in a functional area, e.g. information literacy, research support, collection management, library management systems, etc. The remaining time is spent working in each of the core departments, Library Technology & Innovation, Scholarly Communication and Course Support Services. He/She will also contribute to projects that support the library’s strategic initiatives.
SMU is also hiring a Digital Initiatives Librarian/Manager (Digital Initiatives). The Digital Initiatives Librarian/Assistant Manager works collaboratively with the Library team and other stakeholders of the SMU Community to identify, develop, deploy and manage new and existing technologies that support the Library’s learning, teaching and research goals. The appointee will provide professional management and operational administration of the Library’s information systems including their integrated Library Management System (LMS), Discovery services and other related IT services.
