(22 May 2022) La Trobe University invites applications for the position of University Librarian. Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), the University Librarian is responsible for supporting students, staff and communities through learning and knowledge creation and providing integrated scholarly collections, relevant and responsive information services, and academic support programs.
The University Librarian will play a major role in contributing to the University’s 2030 strategy, championing leading practice in the delivery of high-quality, client-focused services and programs to ensure the achievement of the University’s learning, teaching and research objectives.
The role will oversee the financial management of the University libraries, including the preparation and monitoring of annual library budgets.
Demonstrating a commitment to academic excellence and outstanding service and possessing a vision for excellence in meeting the future needs of the University is essential, as is a vision for respecting and advancing the role of information technology in collaboration with senior leaders within and across portfolios.
