(7 Jun 2022) Ajay Pratap Singh, the new director-general of the National Library, plans to restore and rejuvenate the National Library’s historic city hub at Esplanade which used to house newspapers and periodicals with IT support; develop repositories of all 22 scheduled languages, and focus on developing virtual environment to provide support to information seekers and bibliophiles.
