(13 Aug 2024) The state observed the Librarian Day of August 12 to mark the birth anniversary of Dr S R Ranganathan, considered the father of Library Science in India. A special program was organized in the Bir Chandra State Central Library. Dilip Kumar Das, Head Librarian of Bir Chandra State Central Library presided over the program attended by many dignitaries. Eminent writer Asish Kumar Baidya inaugurated the program. Similar Programs were organized in other libraries across the state.
