(15 Jan 2021) IGI Global and iGroup, longstanding partners in providing research content across Asia, are continuing to collaborate in providing access to the timeliest research through digital resources including peer-reviewed e-books, e-journals, and the InfoSci-Databases. Through this collaboration, we are focused on providing resources to librarians affordably, especially as the importance of electronic resources increases with the continual shift to online learning environments and as institutions are facing budget cuts due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Additionally, to maintain flexibility for institutions, IGI Global is offering (through iGroup) transparent pricing with no price increases, flexible purchasing options (EBA, DDA, and more), print to electronic conversions, sustainable open access read and publish model, and more, to ensure that the library community’s needs are met. This is applicable to:
- E-Books and E-Journals: All of IGI Global’s nearly 6,000 e-books and 175+ e-journals are available in electronic format and cover 11 core subject areas, including business, education, computer science, science and engineering, social sciences, and more.
- InfoSci-Books: A database of nearly 6,000 e-books with over 105,000 full-text chapters focusing on emerging research.
- InfoSci-Journals: A database of 27,000+ peer-reviewed e-journal articles, with 1,000,000+ citation references, sourced from IGI Global’s scholarly journal collection.
- InfoSci-Knowledge Solutions: Discipline-specific e-book and e-journal databases within major subject areas including business, computer science, education, and social sciences.
All of the above resources are hosted on the InfoSci® platform, which offers features including no setup, hosting, or maintenance fees; unlimited simultaneous access; remote access options, and more, making the e-book ideal for online-only and hybrid learning and research environments.
Additionally, when an institution invests in IGI Global’s InfoSci-Databases (which include InfoSci-Books, InfoSci-Journals, and their discipline- and subject-specific databases), they can take advantage of IGI Global’s OA Fee Waiver (Read and Publish) Initiative, which provides institutions an additional source of open access funding. Under this initiative, IGI Global will match the library’s investment with a fund of equal value to go toward subsidizing the OA article processing charges (APCs) for their students, faculty, and staff at that institution when their work is submitted and accepted under OA (following peer review) into an IGI Global journal.
To take advantage of this initiative, IGI Global’s flexible offerings, or to request a free trial of the InfoSci-Databases, contact your iGroup Representative.
