(14 August 2017, London) Hindawi today announced the signing of a framework agreement with Max Planck Digital Library that supports Max Planck researchers in publishing Open Access articles in Hindawi journals. The framework agreement covers all Article Processing Charges for an article submitted by a researcher working in a Max Planck research institute.
Matt Green, Head of Partnerships at Hindawi, said “This is an important agreement as it removes both an administrative and financial barrier for researchers, whilst allowing them to publish in fully Open Access journals. We are extremely proud to be working with such a prestigious research organization as Max Planck and are excited about developing our administrative capabilities to better serve institutional requirements.”
Kai Geschuhn, advisor for Innovative Services and Open Access at the Max Planck Digital Library, says: “With this new agreement, we acknowledge Hindawi as being not only a pioneer in Open Access publishing, but also one of the key players in the current OA publishing landscape. Given the continuous publishing activity of Max Planck authors in Hindawi journals, we are happy to enter into this new framework agreement to cover Hindawi publication charges centrally for our researchers.”
Hindawi believes that agreements like these with progressive research organizations such as Max Planck – who are helping to lead the transition to Open Access – help to reduce the burden on researchers and their institutions and, importantly, let them get on with what really matters – their research.
