(1 November 2013) What does the Menzies Library, a ghost buster, the Loch Ness monster, and a penguin onesie have in common? Nothing! But yesterday afternoon, each of these came together for the inaugural ANU Library Halloween party.
Witches, ghouls, and Harry Potter greeted over 30 postgraduate and research students in the Menzies foyer, before being (willingly) taken in to the depths of the Menzies Library basement.
A tour of the rare book collection was a highlight for many; in particular the selection of gruesome books, some dating back to 1609, that were on display. Students then passed through the rarely seen Menzies basement.
The best-dressed prize was awarded to our ghost buster, with second place going to a glow-in-the-dark skeleton onesie.
The afternoon was an enormous success, and plans for a bigger and better Halloween party in 2014 are already underway.
Ghouls caught on camera here.
