(3 March 2017) Defence Science & Technology Group (DST) is seeking to fill two EL1 positions in Research Information Services (RIS). The Deputy Directors will provide leadership in establishing and providing agile services to meet the emerging information needs in an environment of significant change. The Deputy Director – Research Information Resources and Infrastructure (DDRIRI) is a key role providing leadership and domain advice on information resources and infrastructure. This encompasses content and collection management, information systems, and eDelivery services to clients. DDRIRI is responsible for the development of a high functioning team to scope, manage and deliver a broad array of complex and interdependent services and resources, facilitated by efficient business operations and quality service continuity.
Deputy Director – Research Information Outreach (DDRIO) is a key role providing expert advice on research information services and outreach, encompassing highly specialised Research Librarian services support to DST scientists. The DDRIO is responsible for the development of a high functioning team to scope, manage and deliver specialised information services critical to Defence scientific research. This includes the realignment of Information Services and requisite capabilities to support researchers throughout the research lifecycle, specifically Research Data Management; proactive engagement and collaboration with the DST and external researcher community; transformation and continuous development of digital service delivery; and research and business intelligence support.
