(8 January 2015) Following a successful planning phase and launch in April 2013, the Digital Public Library of America is well on its way toward achieving its ambitious goal of bringing together the riches of America’s libraries, archives, museums, and cultural heritage sites, and making them freely available to students, teachers, researchers, and the general public.
This strategic plan lays out DPLA’s goals for 2015 through 2017. It focuses on critical elements that must be completed in this timeframe for DPLA to succeed—top priorities—as well as areas that need careful attention, and in some cases prepare the groundwork for—supplemental priorities.
