(23 September 2013) The Digital Preservation Coalition is offering two fully-funded scholarships to attend the First Steps Towards Digital Preservation at GESIS, Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences, Cologne, 23rd – 25th October 2013.
The workshop – which is taught in English – is intended as a primer in digital preservation. It introduces central concepts of digital preservation, providing participants with a common terminology to understand preservation and dissemination workflows. The workshop will have a strong focus on organizational rather than technical issues.
Attendance at First Steps in Digital Preservation normally costs 180 Euro per person. However, the Digital Preservation Coalition is pleased to offer two fully funded scholarships which meet the costs of the course. Applications are welcomed from DPC members and associates. The scholarship covers all tuition fees, course materials, access to online resources, lunch and refreshments. Travel, accommodation and subsistence are not funded.
