(October 2015) OPAC is the main way for users to access information resources and services of the library, so it’s very important for libraries to improve their OPAC. The article by Wang Fengxuan and Zheng Lin of School of Government, Beijing Normal University, analyzed the development status of the 985 project-universities’ libraries’ OPACs from 7 perspectives: resource discovery system, retrieval results sorting, facet navigation, visualization technology, recommendation function, one-stop retrieval, and personalized service. Then, the article gave corresponding suggestions on how to construct 985 project-universities’ libraries’ OPACs, in order to offer helpful references for the development of OPACs in China.
