An announcement from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation states that if you are interested in applying for the 2014 ATLA, do it now to avoid delays. The online application site is located here: http://www.gatesfoundation.org/atla (Please click on the “How to Apply” link located on the right of the page).
*TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS FOR SUBMITTING ONLINE*
If you are experiencing difficulties in creating an account, please ensure that the password meets all requirements and that all required information has been provided.
If you are experiencing difficulties in accessing your account, first ensure that you have confirmed your e-mail address using a link that was sent to the registered e-mail address upon creation of the account. If you did not receive this e-mail, please use the password recovery system on the website. You will need to reset your password after correctly answering your security question.
If you continue experiencing difficulties or if you cannot remember the answer to your security question, create a new account with a different e-mail address.
If you receive an error message that your session has expired directly after logging in, please ensure that cookies are enabled in your web browser. Directions on how to do so are located at the bottom of the sign-in page.
If you are experiencing difficulties in submitting your application online AFTER logging in, please check the following:
1. All required information has been submitted
2. Application files are less than 20 MB (though even large files under this size may have some problems being uploaded if you do not have a strong/reliable Internet connection)
3. Application file types are Word, (.doc/.docx), .rtf or .pdf. No other file types will be accepted by the submission system.
4. The application site will only allow ONE file to be uploaded – this is intended to be the 2014 ATLA Application file. If you are interested in including additional files (such as pictures or videos), we encourage you to include these in your application as weblinks. This means, for example, that you should cut and paste a link to a facebook account, youtube video, or flickr account within the text of your application narrative that supports the
appropriate question. This will allow the foundation to more adequately review your application by seeing innovative and meaningful ways in which your organization is providing Internet and computer access. External links are NOT required, but they allow for additional supporting evidence in place of multiple files. Please DO NOT paste photographs or additional supporting documentation at the end of your application.
Confirmation of Submission: Upon successful confirmation of your application you will be taken to a confirmation page and you will also be sent an automatically generated
confirmation e-mail to the registered address. PLEASE KEEP THIS EMAIL FOR YOUR
RECORDS.
If you DO NOT receive this confirmation e-mail, your application may not have been properly submitted. Please log back into your account and go to Step 3 of 3 – your application status will read either “SUBMITTED” or “NOT SUBMITTED” on the bottom of that page. If the status reads “NOT SUBMITTED,” please ensure that the box to authorize submission is checked and then click the “SUBMIT” button.
You may contact the ATLA administrator at [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns.
