Advertisement of Assistant Librarian II (carrying the job title of Faculty Liaison Librarian)
Faculty Liaison and Learning Services at CUHK Library encompasses working with academic staff to support their teaching and research as well as providing digital/information literacy training and support services for undergraduates, postgraduates and other users at CUHK.
Applicants should have (i) a good university degree plus a recognized professional qualification in library and information science OR related disciplines; (ii) at least 3 years’ post-qualification relevant experience (iii) sound knowledge and understanding of academic liaison activities and digital/information literacy in a University setting; (iv) knowledge and experience in delivering programmes and services particularly for users focused around digital/information literacy, (v) demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within the Library, with faculty members and university administrative departments; (vi) excellent written and oral communication skills (vii) and proficiency in Chinese language is required.
Reporting to the Head of Learning Support, the appointee will (a) provide Faculty Liaison Services for the Faculty of Business Administration; (b) promote and enhance digital literacy training and activities in the Faculty and Learning Services Dept; (c) develop and enhance appropriate learning resources (d) work closely with other Faculty liaison librarians to deliver focused user friendly services (f) undertake other assignments and projects. Evening and weekend shift work is required.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for two years, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
