(26 December 2013, Washington) CTIA -The Wireless Association® unveiled KnowMyApp.org to inform consumers how much data their favorite apps use. While there are tools that allow consumers to learn about app data usage after the fact, KnowMyApp.org, for the first time, gives users the ability to estimate an app’s data usage before it’s downloaded. To aid developers, KnowMyApp.org provides information so that when they are creating new apps, they know how to conserve their apps’ data usage and, whenever possible, minimize impact to battery life.
Visitors to KnowMyApp.org may search by name, operating systems or categories.
