(Feburary 2019) The National Library Board (NLB) is the host for the Conference of Directors of National Libraries in Asia and Oceania (CDNLAO) Annual Meeting. The meeting will be held at the National Library Building on 21 February 2019. This year, CDNLAO will commemorate its 40th Anniversary since it first convened in 1979. Over 20 countries across the Asia and Oceania regions will be participating in this meeting.
The theme for the meeting is “What is our Future? National Libraries in 2040”. With everyone’s thoughts on the future, the discussion will be centred mainly on how National Libraries remain relevant to our communities today and in 20 years from now. The meeting will be a platform to discuss the challenges faced by National Libraries, the opportunities that can be leverage on for the future and more importantly, how National Libraries remain agile with budget cuts.
NLB is also honoured to be the host for the 2nd Silk Road International Forum for Libraries. The forum will take place on 21 February 2019, after the CDNLAO Annual Meeting.
