(12 Aug 2024) The Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL) is seeking to appoint a Board Director who possesses a robust background in the governance of not for profit organisations, who holds governance qualifications, e.g. Graduate of Australian Institute of Company Directors, GAICD, or Chartered Member, CMInstD, and who has a proven track record of strategic oversight to contribute to the delivery of the CAUL strategy. The candidate should have substantial experience in national-level advocacy, showing a capacity to influence and drive change on a broad scale. A commitment to values alignment, particularly in equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), is crucial, reflecting our organisation’s dedication to these principles. Experience in higher education is not required; the CAUL Board seeks applicants who will bring alternate perspectives and a diversity of lived experience. A selection of professional skills which may include strategy development, legal, finance, marketing, human resources, quality, safety, advocacy, and/or risk management will be highly regarded.
